About
How I Got Started:
Hi! I’m Jessica Vogel, and I was on a mission to find a bath product that not only got my kids excited about bath time, but that was pure enough that I could feel good about the ingredients they were soaking in. After several months of trial and error I developed the recipe that we still use today. A close friend of mine made the great comparison when he said “these are like a happy meal for bath time”. This pretty much sums up the way my kids feel every time they take a bath now.
Coconut Milk Bath Bombs:
Our recipe was specifically designed for our daughter with sensitive skin. The ingredients are simple: Food-grade baking soda, food-grade citric acid, organic coconut oil (MCT), organic coconut milk, organic orange peel oil, organic lemon peel oil, kaolin clay (from the Earth) and topped with sugar sprinkles that are colored using natural ingredients (like beet juice). My daughter has used one of these in EVERY bath for 3 years and has had fantastic results.
Sustainability:
The other factor that was incredibly important to me was figuring out a way to share this unique combination of pure ingredients that reveal a fun surprise with as many families as possible without adding to the plastic-waste problem that our kids will eventually have to deal with.
Since most bath bomb makers wrap each individual bomb in plastic, you can imagine how many millions of bombs are being consumed every year and creating exponential plastic waste. My family and I didn’t want to contribute to this dilemma.
As a result, these bath bombs are made with 100% natural and organic ingredients, including certified organic essential oils that are marked “kid safe” by a well known manufacturer here in the USA, and certified organic coconut milk. The labels and shrink wrap are 100% biodegradable and the box is made with paper-based materials that are sourced from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) or Sustainable Forestry Initiative.
Surprise Inside:
I want your kids to be as excited about bath time as mine are, so there is a small surprise toy inside each bomb, but I left out that pesky plastic egg. This means more high quality ingredients fit inside each bomb and there’s less impact on the Earth. Talk about a win-win.
The bath bomb recipe is hand-crafted and assembled by my family and I in Lincoln, Nebraska who then ship them out to happy kids, just like yours, all around the country.
